Project Report | May 7, 2020
National Disaster Management Office Assessment rep

By Sandrine Wallez | project leader

Dear all,

Thank you so much for showing real concern for our local communities highly affected by the recent past of the TC Harold Category 5, who completely destroyed thousands of houses and buildings mainly on the islands of Santo, Malo, Malekula, Pentecost and Ambrym. According to the National Disaster Management Office (NDMO) more than 159,474 people (presenting approx. 55% of the nation popluation) were afffected by the cyclone. Response and recovery are very difficult due to the international flights restrictions imposed by the CODIV-19 so your contributions are crucial to give us the opportunity to contribute to the support of the women group Nok Klab (approx.200 to 250 women) located in Central and south Pentecost heavily affected by the cyclone and the cocoa producers on Malo island, who were also badly hitted by the cyclone.

Your contributions are essential and highly appreciated and give us the chane to join forces with NDMO, who has the heavy task to response to the cyclone hazrads and cannot do it alone.

Thank you very much for your generosity especially in those days where the COVID-19 is affected the whole world. Thank you very much and take care!

Tankyu bigwan!
