Project Update

By Sriram | Project Leader

It’s Examinations time at the BCT High School and students across classes are busy preparing for their final exams! Teachers are busier than usual, as they ready the final reviews and help students achieve their goals. With summer having begun, the temperatures have started soaring up too, adding to the heat.

This quarter has been a busy one, packed with events and happenings. The harvest festival of Sankranti was celebrated at school with students decorating the school premises with colourful muggus (rangolis). They also performed the traditional folk arts and taught these to children from other villages.  Social animation programmes in villages by the school children, interactions with people across different fields of work, an addition of conversational English classes, conducting Vijay Homam for the tenth graders, folk art performances, National Science Day and Women’s Day celebrations all along with academics and vocational skills engaged the students through this quarter.

Steps towards infrastructural improvements were also taken through a wastewater treatment plant and the addition of benches.

As Team BCT works towards giving the best to its school students in terms of education and resources, it hasn’t been easy with limited funds. Having had to stretch itself for this quarter, we can only hope that as the new academic year begins, much more will be done for the students. Additions of more fans, summer classes and stationery for kids is on our summer agenda, as we also hope to support education for more needy children.

Thank you for being with us on this journey.
