By Zachery Onyango | Project Leader
Dear Donor,
Thanks to your generous support, Development Alert has continued focusing attention on communities that may face increased vulnerability because of cross-border movement and the ongoing Ebola situation in the region.
The current outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo has expanded geographically, with WHO reporting 63 affected health zones across seven provinces by 23 September. The latest expansion has increased concerns about potential cross-border transmission.
This makes community preparedness particularly important.
People living near borders depend on movement for trade, employment, family relationships, education, and access to services. Public health measures must therefore be practical, understandable, and sensitive to people's daily lives.
Development Alert's Ebola response activities focus on community awareness, hygiene promotion, preparedness, and support for practical prevention measures.
Your generosity helps us reach communities with information and preparedness support at a time when accurate knowledge is essential.
Thank you for helping Development Alert strengthen community resilience and promote responsible action. In an outbreak, informed communities are an essential line of protection.
