Dear Donor,
Thanks to your generous support, we continue helping communities understand how to respond responsibly when an Ebola alert occurs.
An alert does not automatically mean that a person has Ebola. Appropriate investigation and laboratory testing are needed to establish whether a suspected illness is actually linked to the virus.
We therefore encourage communities to report concerning illnesses promptly while avoiding rumors, blame, or stigma toward individuals and families.
This approach supports both public health and community trust. WHO's surveillance work emphasizes the importance of rapid detection, investigation of alerts, and monitoring of contacts in interrupting chains of transmission.
Your contribution helps communities respond to health alerts with greater awareness, calm, and cooperation.
