Dear Donor,
Thanks to your continued support, we are helping strengthen community awareness around disease surveillance and the importance of reporting unusual illness quickly.
Community members are often among the first people to notice when someone becomes seriously ill. When they understand where and how to report concerns, they can contribute valuable information to formal health systems.
Our work encourages community leaders, families, transport workers, teachers, and other local actors to remain attentive to unusual health events and communicate concerns through appropriate channels.
The current outbreak demonstrates the scale of this challenge. As of 29 September, 63 of the DRC's 167 health zones had reported confirmed Bundibugyo virus disease cases.
Your support is helping strengthen the connection between communities and formal disease-surveillance systems.
