Dear Donor,
Thanks to your continued support, we are helping communities understand the importance of contact monitoring during Ebola response activities. When someone has been exposed to a confirmed case, regular follow-up can be essential for identifying illness early and preventing further transmission.
Our community engagement efforts emphasize cooperation with health teams, timely reporting of symptoms, and practical measures that help families safely manage periods of monitoring. We also recognize that families under observation may face challenges accessing food, hygiene supplies, and other basic necessities.
The scale of the response remains substantial. At the end of September, ECDC reported that 78.7% of identified contacts in affected DRC provinces were under follow-up.
Your contribution helps strengthen the community support systems needed to make contact monitoring more effective and humane.
