Health Zones
Dear Donor,
The geographic scale of the Ebola outbreak demonstrates why preparedness must extend across communities rather than focusing only on individual treatment centres.
The outbreak currently affects 63 health zones across seven provinces of the DRC.
Development Alert continues promoting community-level preparedness through health education, hygiene awareness, early reporting and responsible communication.
The wide geographic distribution means that communities with different levels of exposure and healthcare access need understandable information.
Our efforts encourage residents to communicate concerning illness through appropriate channels and cooperate with professional health teams.
Preparedness is strongest when households, schools, markets and community leaders understand their role.
Your support helps extend awareness beyond major outbreak centres to communities that also need reliable health information.
