Dear Donor,
The continuing geographic expansion of Ebola makes cross-border preparedness increasingly important.
WHO reports that the outbreak has reached 63 health zones across seven provinces, including Dungu Health Zone in Haut-Uélé, which borders South Sudan, and Bulu Health Zone in Sud-Ubangi.
Development Alert continues promoting health awareness among communities connected through travel, trade and family relationships.
Border preparedness does not mean stigmatizing travelers or restricting ordinary community relationships. Instead, it means ensuring that people understand the importance of reporting concerning illness and cooperating with health authorities.
Informal crossings can make surveillance more challenging, which increases the importance of community awareness.
We continue encouraging communities to share accurate health information and seek appropriate medical assistance when necessary.
Your support helps strengthen preparedness among communities whose daily lives connect people across national boundaries.
