Dear Donor,
Every Ebola outbreak leaves behind important lessons about preparedness.
Uganda's 2026 outbreak ended after 42 consecutive days without a new confirmed case, demonstrating the value of rapid response and sustained monitoring.
Meanwhile, the DRC continues fighting a much larger outbreak caused by the same Bundibugyo virus.
Development Alert is committed to helping communities transform lessons from these emergencies into lasting preparedness.
This includes strengthening awareness, hygiene practices, community surveillance, early reporting, risk communication and cooperation with health authorities.
We also believe preparedness should extend beyond Ebola.
The same community networks that help identify unusual illness can contribute to responses to other infectious diseases and public-health emergencies.
Investment in preparedness therefore has value even after an outbreak ends.
Your support is helping build communities that are better prepared not only for today's emergency, but for tomorrow's health challenges.
