August 2026

Dear GlobalGiving Community,

This quarter, Days for Girls is reaching farther into communities across Latin America, including places where access to menstrual health resources has historically been extremely limited.

So far in 2026, 36,472 women and girls across Latin America have been reached with menstrual health education and Days for Girls Kits. Behind that number are thousands of individuals gaining practical tools, greater understanding of their bodies, and more choices in how they manage their periods.

One of the most meaningful developments this quarter is taking place in Ecuador’s remote Indigenous communities.

Days for Girls Ecuador is working to reach 1,500 women and girls in remote villages in Pastaza Province with locally produced DfG Kits and comprehensive menstrual health education. The team has already reached 300 women and girls across three communities.

In the community of Chichi, in Canton Tiwinza, the significance of this outreach went far beyond menstrual health. Days for Girls Ecuador was only the second organization ever to reach the village with any form of aid.

Reaching communities like Chichi requires overcoming geographic and logistical barriers, but it also reflects an essential part of our approach: ensuring that women and girls in even the most remote areas are not left behind.

At the same time, our locally led work in Ecuador continues to expand in Loja Province through the EmpowerHer Project. The project aims to provide 1,652 schoolgirls with locally produced DfG Kits and menstrual health education, while also engaging 50 boys and men in education designed to build understanding and reduce stigma around menstruation.

Across the region, this momentum extends well beyond Ecuador. In 2026, Days for Girls programming has already reached 5,134 women and girls in the Dominican Republic, 3,140 in Cuba, 3,140 in El Salvador, 3,140 in Honduras, 3,166 in Mexico, and 2,159 in Guatemala with menstrual health education and DfG Kits.

Each distribution represents more than a menstrual product. It is an opportunity to share knowledge, challenge stigma, strengthen locally led solutions, and help ensure that geography does not determine whether someone can manage their period safely and with dignity.

Your support makes it possible for Days for Girls and our local partners to keep going farther, reaching communities that are too often overlooked and building sustainable menstrual health solutions from within the communities themselves.

Thank you for helping make this work possible.

With heartfelt gratitude,

The Days for Girls Team
