This program seeks to improve basic education and health services for children in Honduras, especially those in the Early Childhood stage and who live in communities with high poverty rates. In education, improvements will be made in infrastructure and equipment of school spaces, teacher training processes for the development of new learning and in health, the donation of supplies and equipment to hospitals and community clinics to provide quality medical care to children.
Children face different challenges that affect their ability to attend school, learn and develop positively; more than 758,000 children and young people between 5 and 17 years old are outside the education system. The net coverage of the pre-basic education cycle reaches 25.2%, the lowest percentage in the last 4 years. This project will improve the conditions of pre-basic education centers through their conditioning and equipment, strengthen the skills and competencies of teachers and caregivers to improve the quality of care for children and support the improvement in the quality of health services. health through the donation of equipment and medical supplies to community health centers.
