This project-- Unite All Schools-- will provide meaningful opportunities for teachers and their students to develop as global citizen leaders by engaging them in real life projects with their peers from diverse countries across the world through innovative virtual exchange programs. Students and teachers will develop the 21st century problem-solving, collaboration, and leadership skills to solve local and global challenges in partnership across communities and the world.
Solving the local and global challenges which threaten our communities and world are not possible without partnership and leadership. We need leaders that are able to problem-solving, navigate cultural differences, and collaborate across our diverse communities. We need to equip young people with the opportunities to develop these skills and competencies so that we can ensure a more peaceful, sustainable, and united planet for all.
The project gives students and their teachers an opportunity to actually engage in real-life projects with peers across the world. Students work on project-based learning to solve challenges within their own communities while collaborating and sharing with other schools and learning about the diverse and sometimes similar challenges that their peers face. By getting involved, students realize that they can make a difference and that the special difference that they can make is greatly needed.
Only in recent years has this level of global collaboration been possible. We actually can connect students and their teachers from the farthest reaches of the world to build bridges of understanding and engage them in solving local and global challenges. We develop them as 21st century global leaders with cross-cultural competencies, problem-solving skills, digital literacy, etc. We prepare them for life and jobs. We prepare them for leadership and partnership to create a better world.
