Schools Now Closing the Digital

In the border city of Matamoros, Tamaulipas, the Media Classroom is often the only place where children have their very first contact with a computer. For these students, technology isn't just a tool it is a "door open to knowledge".  The students, previously lacked access to technology at home, and have now successfully crossed the digital bridge, learning to create their first email accounts, navigate Google Classroom, and design creative presentations that reflect their own ideas and growth. Proving that when we provide the right tools, the digital gap begins to disappear.

 

Our mission along the Mexico-U.S. border is inspired by the reality that access to digital resources can transform a student's entire future. While our ultimate goal is to reach every public school in need along the border, we are currently celebrating the ongoing success and transformation within our active schools in Matamoros.

 

The Impact of Continuous Mentorship: It’s not just about the hardware; it’s about the human element. Through our Program of School Strengthening (PFE), we provide year-round pedagogical accompaniment.

 

  • Teachers are already pioneering the use of Generative AI as a safe research assistant for students, helping them improve their vocabulary and critical thinking skills.
  • On average, teachers in our program have advanced 1 to 2 levels in the European Framework for Digital Competence (MCDD), moving from "Novices" to "Integrators" who can lead tech-driven lessons independently.
  • Children are now researching local environmental issues and presenting their findings via digital docs and multimedia products, showing a marked increase in motivation and curiosity.

 

We are proud of the work being done in these schools, but our vision for the border is much larger. We are working to ensure that more schools can move from the "digital dark" into a modern, engaging learning environment.
