War crimes continue in Ukraine. Hospitals are attacked, and citizens are displaced. Hospitals are facing extreme pressure to deliver essential and urgent medical care. Severe shortages of medical equipment, surges in people needing care, and massive underfunding mean that hospitals are desperate for help. Healthcare professionals are struggling to save lives with limited resources. We provide vital medical equipment and supplies to children's hospitals to ensure care for children is available.
In 2023, the WHO verified 1,000 attacks on Ukrainian hospitals, the highest number ever recorded. These war crimes aim to crumble Ukranian morale. Despite ongoing attacks, Ukrainians stand firm. However, the war has sunk the underfunded healthcare system, and children's hospitals, in particular, must now rely on charities. There is insufficient funding for essential children's medical supplies, from medicines to life-saving surgical equipment.
BKC is committed to assisting children's hospitals and healthcare facilities buy essential lifesaving supplies and equipment. We help hospitals purchase vital surgical and diagnostic tools, durable hospital equipment, medical supplies and medicines. We also fund child-friendly ward refurbishments. We focus budgets so that the most urgent and vital requests for assistance are answered quickly.
As attacks on hospitals - aimed at displacing people in cities - inevitably continue, BKC is committed to answering calls for aid from hospitals needing emergency supplies and medical equipment that help save lives and ensure that children can access proper healthcare. This project aims to secure emergency medical supplies and equipment for Ukrainian hospitals to continue functioning and support those who cannot and will not flee, especially children.
