Hand in Hand Intervention through GlobalGiving.
The Little by Little campaign from GlobalGiving has imparted her life and that of her family so positively and has brought happiness at her home. She received 3 chicks which she has reared until today. Currently she has 16 chicken which lay eggs which she sales and had incubated some from which she had about 25 flock. She sold the cocks and the proceeds used to pay school fees for her children. She collects around one tray and half of eggs per week. She sells a tray at KES 450. This has increased her income to about KES 2000 monthly from her chicken which she did not have before.
Future Plans
She intends to expand her poultry business by adding more stock, to build a modern poultry house and also be able to formulate her own poultry feeds. These should be able to translate to more savings on paultry feeds and increase her income from the current KES 2000 from chicken.
