The summer vacation starts in early July in Taiwan , and students won’t go to school two months. Parents of hard- of –hearing students always concern about their children and worry about that they may stop to study , learn or even to communicate with others during the summer vacation.
SoundHome center organize summer vacation program for hard-of-hearing students to solve their parents’ worry. Children in this program can review their subjects like math and Chinese with special education teachers , or the teachers can teach them some new course progress and how to do their vacation homework better .
We provide tutoring program for 15 hard-of –hearing students during the school term , and organize this six-weeks summer vacation program for students more than 15 to continue the tutoring work and to help more students. There are 17 hard-of hearing students participating in the tutoring program in May and June. There are 26 hard-of hearing students joining the summer vacation program in July and August.
Besides studying , members of both programs can learn how to communicate , interact and cooperate to others through group activities planned by social workers . There are also dancing and Ukulele class , DIY and physical activities . Every member have a happy ,wonderful and also continuous studying and learning vacation .
