These hard-of-hearing children all study in inclusive education . Even they can hear and learn throgh using hearing aids , they still can't completely understand what teachers said .
In Taiwan, it's really difficult for theachers to slow down their teaching schedules because of the only one special-need student in the class , and we always know that our hard-of-hearing children have to spend more than triple time to study and they can probably study as well as their hearing classmates .
To help and enhance these hard-of-hearing students' understanding , we provide after-school academic tutoring . They come to our center every Saturday , and specail education teachers teach them Mandarin Chinese and Mathematics .
14 students participate in this program . There are 3-5 students in each class , and it divide into 3 class in according to the students's grade and level . Since January , we provide 9 times class, and the average attendance rate of the students are 85%.
