New Shops Taking Shape in Samochima and Shakawe
Boiteko and Thalegang Basket Weavers are nearing the opening of their retail shops. This quarter, they secured licenses, opened bank accounts, and introduced recordkeeping systems. They also signed an agreement to sell each other’s products, strengthening both businesses through true cooperative spirit.
Cooperation in Action
In March, the Dia Dia Ostrich Eggshell Artists visited the established Shorobe Basketry Cooperative for a peer learning exchange, gaining practical insights and inspiration to grow their own enterprise.
Digital Skills for Growth
With support from GlobalGiving donors, four cooperatives now have laptops. This quarter focused on building skills: members received training in email, word processing, and spreadsheets, along with ongoing digital literacy support—helping them operate more professionally and access new opportunities.
Equipping Shorobe for Success
Shorobe Basketry Cooperative received essential shop equipment, including uniforms, furniture, and office supplies—strengthening daily operations and professionalism.
These milestones are made possible by donor support—helping women artisans build stronger businesses and more sustainable livelihoods.
