On October 30th, 2020, a 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck in the Aegean Sea off the coast of Turkey and Greece. In Turkey, 117 people were killed and 15,000 displaced, with widespread damage occurring primarily in Izmir. The Greek island of Samos - home to many migrants and asylum seekers - was also impacted. There were more than 25 aftershocks felt across the region.

With Gratitude,
