TRUE COLOURS - Help Us Keep Adesewa's Legacy Alive

By Omozusi S. | Project Leader

The TRUE COLOURS Project is a 4-month weekly creative nurturing program designed to empower young minds through the therapeutic power of art and creative expression. Inspired by Adesewa’s legacy, the initiative provides teenagers with a safe, restorative space and respite from the daily challenges they face, allowing them to explore their potential, build resilience, and express their true selves.

Quarterly Status & Operational Update

During this quarter, we encountered significant financial constraints due to a lower-than-anticipated inflow of donations and funding. As a direct result:

  • Program Interruption: We were unable to host the planned weekly sessions for this quarter due to insufficient funds to cover operational expenses and art materials.

  • Current Focus: Our primary efforts have pivoted toward financial stabilization, donor re-engagement, and securing sustainable support to ensure we can reactivate the weekly program safely and effectively.

Looking Ahead & Next Steps

To keep Adesewa’s vision and legacy alive, we are actively taking steps to restore operations and resume nurturing our young participants:

  1. Funding Campaigns: Launching targeted donor drives and outreach initiatives to cover baseline operational costs for upcoming sessions.

  2. Resource Allocation: Structuring a low-cost, high-impact supply framework to ensure consistent provision of essential art materials once sessions resume.

  3. Exhibition & Showcase Planning: Preparing for the "Let Your True Colors Shine" exhibition to display artworks created by Adesewa and other talented young people, raising awareness and support for the program's long-term sustainability.

We deeply appreciate the support and commitment of our community and partners. Adesewa’s legacy continues to inspire our mission, and with your help, we remain determined to provide our youth with the creative refuge and encouragement they deserve.
