ADESEWA AME SENBANJO passed away on February 5, 2021 at age 19 from intra-cardiac lymphoma, an aggressive cancer of the heart. Her death was a devastating experience for her parents, younger siblings and close family members. Adesewa left behind a variety of artwork, drawings, two completed manuscripts of her unpublished books, video scripts and art illustrations. While alive, she had a note stuck to her bedroom door proclaiming her positive approach to life: "LET YOUR TRUE COLOUR SHINE!
A part of my heart and soul has been missing since Adesewa departed, there's nothing comparable to this kind of pain, no closure, but perhaps I can learn to live with the pain of loss by helping the next young person bloom; for their sake, mine and in honour and celebration of my only daughter.- Omo (Adesewa's Mom)
We are keeping her legacy alive through the TRUE COLOURS PROJECT- 4 Month Weekly Creative Nurturing Program that offers to nurture kids with the use of art therapy and creative expression and also give them respite from the challenges they face.
