This campaign is particularly focused on supporting our 38 partner health units in Tanzania as they are due to receive a donation of medicines after Christmas. Inter Care plan to send medical aid that can treat bacterial infections. Pneumonia for example is commonly seen due to living alongside dirt tracks and very dry land. This project will help to send high-quality medicines and other supplies that Inter Care partners in Africa don't otherwise have access to or the funds to purchase.
Shockingly, pneumonia accounts for a staggering 15% of child mortality in Tanzania. Father Aloyce, Medical Director of the Diocese of Moshi and Inter Care partner, has confirmed that pneumonia is a major concern in the Kilimanjaro region. Though treatable, the lack of access to high-quality medicines and inadequate funding for their procurement presents a significant challenge for healthcare facilities in Tanzania when it comes to treating vulnerable patients suffering from bacterial infections.
Our goal is to provide much-needed support to all 38 partner health unit in Tanzania, who are eagerly awaiting a shipment of medicines after the holiday season. Inter Care are able to provide high-quality medicines and medical supplies that could help partners in Tanzania provide the best care to their most vulnerable patients.
With this project, hundreds of vulnerable patients will be able to gain free access to vital medical aid. This includes children, elderly patients and disabled people.
