Dear Supporters,
Thank you for standing with the children of Dnipro. Here is a short update on the latest programme cycle at our Children's Centre.
The cycle from January to May was not easy. Power outages and a lack of heating forced the centre to pause activities regularly. But our team didn't stop: for the first time, we brought sessions directly to temporary housing settlements for displaced families, so children who couldn't reach the centre still received support. And thanks to the generator your donations helped provide, the centre kept running even during blackouts.
Over the cycle, more than 350 children took part in psychosocial and recreational activities, and many more joined catch-up classes, speech therapy and parent workshops. Weekend activities like Easter crafts, quests and teen film clubs gave children a safe place to have fun, socialize and make friends.
The results are encouraging. Children made clear progress in school subjects and became calmer, more focused and more confident. Every parent we asked noticed positive changes in their child's emotional well-being. As one parent told us: "You make children's everyday life brighter in such a difficult time."
One story especially touched us. A girl who prepared for her university entrance exams (NMT) with us in an earlier cycle passed them and was admitted to a university. She then came back and asked to join our team as a summer volunteer, to help other children the way she was helped.
Families have told us how much they wish the support could continue, including over longer periods of time. With your help, we can keep this safe space open for the children who need it most.
With heartfelt gratitude,
The LIBERECO Team
