With this project funds we planned to buy a SCHOOL VAN which can transport upto 25 students in a single trip from the nearby villages. The existing mini van we have becomes 5 year old and we feel it is right time to go for the new one. School VAN is 100% essential to the special need students because the public transport system will not take care of their needs fully also it won't pick-up the students from their door steps.
On a door-to-door survey conducted by us revealed that there are plenty of MR/CP children approx. 12km in and around our school. As the parents are daily wage earners they were unable to send their children to a special school which is far away from their home. And the public transport system is also not suitable for MR/CP children. So, we have decided to purchase a school van to pick-up all these students to our school to give them a special education.
A School van can easily reach the student's door steps to pick them up. We pick the students in the nearby villages of Rajapalayam, Tamilnadu, India, thus the way the parent's major problem of sending them to the special school is solved. This school van will indirectly helps the students to get physiotherapy,speech therapy, occupational therapy along with special education.
The Project will provide 50 rural poor students to get special education. It helps them to lead a decent independent life. They need not to depend anyone for their daily chores.
