Impact Report: Igniting Curiosity Through STEAM

By Dawn Anderson | Donor Relation Specialist

Made Possible by Your Support

Because of your generosity, Camp Fire First Texas continues to provide enriching, high-quality out-of-school experiences where children and youth can grow, learn, and thrive. Your support helps create safe, engaging environments where students build confidence through hands-on STEAM learning, creative exploration, and meaningful connections.

Through opportunities to ask questions, test ideas, and discover new possibilities, young people strengthen academic skills while developing confidence, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities that support long-term success.

Daily Hands-On Experiences

Students participate in Tinker Spaces, Maker Spaces, and project-based activities that reinforce science, technology, engineering, art, and math concepts in engaging and accessible ways. Through hands-on learning, students build confidence while discovering new interests and skills.

Real-World Application

Activities encourage problem-solving, creativity, and collaboration while helping students connect STEAM concepts to everyday life. Students are encouraged to ask questions, test ideas, and learn through exploration.

Family Engagement

With your support, Camp Fire hosts Family Engagement STEAM Nights across program sites each year, inviting families to participate in experiments, creative challenges, and interactive learning experiences alongside their children.

Impact That Lasts

Research shows that out-of-school STEAM experiences can significantly increase the time young people spend exploring and experimenting with STEAM concepts. These opportunities help students:

  • Prevent learning loss during afterschool and summer hours
  • Increase confidence and readiness for STEAM-related subjects
  • Strengthen collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Build stronger family connections to learning

Thank you for partnering with Camp Fire to help prepare children and youth for bright and successful futures.

Together, you are helping ignite curiosity and shape confident, capable learners.
