The 5 entrepreneurs with disabilities that are part of this project struggle with social inclusion every day. Their physical condition made it hard for them to find a job as an employee, so they decided to take the long and yet fulfilling road of entrepreneurship. It’s not easy, but it brings them the joy of creating, appreciation for their work and the pride of being able to support their families and send their children to school.
There are about 15,640 people with disabilities living in Medellín, out of which 68% live in poverty. They cannot find job opportunities in their environment and have to face economic, physical and psychological barriers on a daily basis.
Interactuar partnered with Amigos con Calor Humano Association to help transform the lives of these people, providing them the knowledge and training needed to develop their projects. This way, we are able to offer them a comprehensive support, enhancing their capacities to strengthen their businesses and supporting them to achieve their autonomy and independence.
