Being a successful entrepreneur is one of the most difficult, daunting and risky paths to follow, especially if you suffer from a physical disability. Despite the challenges, a handful of entrepreneurs with disabilities in Medellin are more determined than ever to run their own business and build a brighter future. This project assists 5 entrepreneurs with physical disabilities, providing them with top quality training and support in order guide their businesses in the appropriate direction.
There are over 15,500 people with disabilities living in Medellin, most of who are living in extreme poverty, making their situation even harder than it already is. Living with a disability is not easy! It requires special resources and treatments, which are often not available. Keeping in mind Colombia's harsh socio-economic climate, micro-entrepreneurs with disabilities face more than just physical challenges.
The project supports 5 micro-entrepreneurs with various physical disabilities in order to enhance their businesses, overcome their reality and improve their quality of life. In order to expand our capacity we have partnered with our good friends: 'Amigos Con Calor Humano'. Together, we will carry out business evaluations, provide training and support and build a safe work environment that is tailored to each individuals needs.
The project's long-term strategy is to enhance the entrepreneurial spirit of local business owners with disabilities, helping them realize their own potential and live a more fulfilled life. With greater income, these entrepreneurs will be able to support their families, offer education to their children and look forward to their future. These people stand as an example for all; they prove that despite the odds impossible is nothing.
