Thanks to generous donations from United Through Sport supporters we have raised 60% of the funds needed to construct our second field. With the funds raised so far, we have successfully built 60% of the field. We are trying to raise the remaining 40% of the funds needed to complete the construction and open the field. We are aiming to raise the funds over the next few weeks and would appreciate your help with raising awareness about this fundraiser.
The funds raised will contribute to finishing the construction of the field and opening it up to our participants. The field will provide a safe space where our participants can access supportive coaches, learn valuable life skills, and successfully navigate life's challenges. Additionally, the field will create an income-generating opportunity for United Through Sport by running an evening football league, contributing to the sustainability of the organization and allowing us to positively impact more children and youth.
The first astroturf that opened last year has allowed us to employ four previously unemployed youth, providing them with valuable work experience and meaningful employment. We will double these numbers with the opening of the second field. Additionally, since January 2022 the turf has hosted football and life-skills programs for more than 200 participants from disadvantaged communities aged from 5 to 14 years old. We expect these numbers to double after we open the second field.
Thank you for supporting this meaningful cause and we look forward to your continued support.
