Training vulnarable women in soap making

In Kanyaruchinya, Goma, vulnerable women continue to face displacement, unstable living conditions, limited access to education, and few opportunities to develop income-generating skills. Our soap-making project was created in response to these challenges. With a total budget of $59,000, the project aims to train 100 vulnerable women in the production of liquid and solid soap, while also providing practical knowledge in small business management and marketing. The goal is not only to teach a skill, but to help women build sustainable livelihoods, increase their self-reliance, and better support their families.

The project is currently in its preparation and resource-mobilization phase. We are identifying qualified trainers and potential participants, while preparing the conditions needed to begin the three-month training. Once launched, participants will receive practical training, basic production equipment, and access to a suitable workspace. The project is designed to help women turn their new skills into small businesses and income-generating activities, with the potential to create additional employment within the community.
