TRAINING PROGRAM FOR WOMEN HEAD OF HOUSEHOLD

The Restaurando las Familias Foundation is proud to announce the successful completion of the National and International Cooking Course, an initiative designed to empower female heads of household. This program provided them with practical tools to face daily challenges and opened up new development opportunities, both personal and professional. With the support of our donors, we have taken another step in our mission to build a better future for them and their families. 

 The course offered participants a comprehensive culinary experience, where they were able to explore flavors and techniques from diverse cultures. Through this learning, the women not only learned to prepare typical Colombian dishes but also to make recipes from other parts of the world, which expanded their job opportunities in the gastronomic sector. For many of them, the course has been the beginning of a path toward economic self-sufficiency and a real way out of the cycle of poverty and dependency.   

 This culinary training not only has an impact on their professional development but also strengthens their self-esteem and autonomy. By learning high-level culinary skills, these women are in a position to become productive and valuable members of society. Their effort and dedication reflect the capacity for improvement and transformation that we promote in our foundation.

 We hope that our graduates continue to expand their knowledge and skills in the field of gastronomy. We want to see them share their passion and creativity in the culinary arts, both in their homes and in their community, inspiring others and opening doors for themselves and their families.

A new successful training program series comes to an end. For the past two months, a group of women heads of household took the “Bartender and Waitress” course. In this course, they learned how to properly serve food on the table, how to dress formally, attend to the diners, handle a tray with plates and glasses, and more.

This is one of the newest courses our foundation is opening to teach. It is a remarkable step given in order to train women heads of household in a wide range of trades and occupations as a way to present a full and integral formation so they can learn the most they can and then put into practice the acquired knowledge to get a job or start a new one as entrepreneurs.

These women are capable, smart, and committed; they can do whatever they propose, and overall, they have an extra motivation: their children. We care about them, but we also believe in what they can achieve, not just with the certificate but with the knowledge and tools learned, necessary to face a society that has denied them one chance. 

This was not just a simple course; for these women, it was an opportunity, a way to get into the labor market and to improve their quality of life and their family's.     

In two weeks, we will be holding a new course, one of the most anticipated for them: “National and International Cooking”. Some of these women have an idea of traditional Colombian cooking, but with this course, they will learn even Italian, Japanese, Lebanese cooking, and more. 

We are about to open this course because recently we acquired the supplies necessary to prepare the foundation's kitchen, so all the students have on hand the elements required to learn and practice at the time. This is all thanks to the donations of important supporters who became angels and friends of our work with the community and the women heads of household.

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the donations and support. We are eager to start this new series of courses that will bring joy, hope, and abilities to the women in the program.
