Training for self-construction and self-management

The last three months of activities were based on encouraging a local group of women and farmers focused on promoting circular economy in the community through the commercialization and implementation of local products and ecotechnologies, so we could be able to achieve that our activities become economically sustainable as one of the most priority long-term goals. We're glad to inform you that San Pablo's community has achieved:

• 9 efficient wood stoves.
• 4 backyard organic orchards.
• 1 building workshop.
• 1 herbal workshop
• 1 handmade mandalas workshop.
• 1 Cultural intervention at San Pablo's Patron-Saint feast.

Those activities were full of learning and fun and we are still working on getting the community closer to a stronger social fabric; always looking after people's health, ecology and economic development. Women at San Pablo have shown a lot of interest and initiative for the wood stoves so the ecotechnology is getting well known at the town. As new people is getting closer to the project, new goals and weaknesses have emerged; so right now, we are planning rainwater harvesting and integral management of residues estrategies to improve an equal access to natural resources for the ensurance of San Pablo Hidalgo's resilience in front of another sismic or climate change disaster. We're working really hard together in order to get the next short therm goals and we would be really happy to stay accompanied by the GlobalGiving's community and fellowship:

• 2 public building rainwater harvesting systems.
• 20 particular rainwater harvesting systems.
• 1 network formed by 20 active local women producers.
• 1 wetland for farming waste-water treatment design.

A lot of results have been accomplished until now and San Pablo's people is actually improving their own economic development and strenghtening their social fabric. You will know more about our advances soon, we deeply appreciate your attention.

In San Pablo cooks and eats in wood stoves in the open air and in the earthquake were also damaged in the construction of ecological stoves began, taking as results to date: 1 graduate technician, 4 housewives, 1 child and 4 men, all informed about the efficient use of energy in the stove and the consequences of the release of black smoke in health and in the ecosystem, 4 stoves built and 6 more already scheduled for the next 2 and a half months, agreements were made to share responsibilities and the graduate technician has already perfected the design, appropriating and reaffirming the knowledge.

As a follow-up to the herbal workshops, and to promote food sovereignty, a backyard garden with plants and medicinal plants was carried out, using specific plants to combat pests.

In the path of attention to the reconstruction of St. Paul several organizations attended the need for housing by building houses for the last affected by the earthquake in a few months.

For this reason, the strategy of recent months is to promote development and strengthen the social fabric through workshops that bring San Pablo closer to sustainability.
