Since the earthquake occurred in Mexico in September 2017 Investigacion y Soluciones Socio Ambientales A.C. supported by Mexico Une trained members of San Pablo Hidalgo, resulting in 6 self-constructed temporary shelters like bamboo yurts. Currently, the Instituto Tecnologico de Zacatepec supports in advising the inhabitants of the community to build permanent homes and strengthen the social fabric. Your donation facilitates the continuation of counseling and training.
The technical knowledge of construction is limited in the community and the materials are inaccessible, as an alternative, the inhabitants of Mexican communities use more feasible options that entail a lower seismic resistance in their homes Through visits during the last 15 months, a lack of community sense has been identified, as well as outstanding skills that can be an opportunity for sustainable regional development, led mostly by women from San Pablo.
Resources were managed to take the community team to the Instituto Tecnologico de Zacatepec to be trained in a resistant earthquake construction technique that uses local materials. As part of the practical training, 2 small houses will be built and the process will be accompanied from the collection of materials, building and through workshops and talks that strengthen community bonds. The process will be accompanied by professionals, volunteers and residents of San Pablo Hidalgo
It is intended to continue with the construction of homes of people who are still affected by the earthquakes of last year and, with the same technique, we will build a campaign to appropriate public spaces by building a Community Center that promotes social and economic development through the design and implementation of technologies that allow a community life that respects its ecosystem
