Thank you so much for your kindness in support to train new health workers in Malawi.
Funds raised since September 2010 will be reallocated to Train New Health Workers in Ethiopia: Save Lives! This project supports the training of nursing students in Ethiopia's Alkan Health Science College. By educating this cadre of health workers, primary health care services will be more readily available to men, women, and children in high-need communities. For an exciting update from Ethiopia please click this link. The academic year is fast approaching, and future nursing and midwifery students are preparing for their studies. We can't wait to help them access a high quality training and begin practicing!

Thank you for your continued contributions to support scholarships to train students at the Malamulo College of Health Sciences in Malawi. Training health providers in rural areas, like the Malamulo College of Health Sciences, is essential to ensuring rural and remote communities will be able to achieve the Millennium Development Goals. Training health workers in rural-based education programs provides students with the experience necessary to understand and serve the needs of rural communities.
Thank you again for your support to train new clinical officers in Malawi.
Thank you for your continued donations to fund tuition for clinical officers at the Malamulo College of Health Sciences in Malawi. Ensuring that health workers in all cadres receive quality training is a significant positive step in reducing the shortage of the global health workforce.
Have you wondered more about the Malamulo College of Health Sciences in Malawi? Please visit the school's website to learn more about the college and Malamulo hospital. http://www.missionatmalamulo.org/about.htm
Please continue to share with your family and friends about this unique and innovative way to fund health care workers and improve the lives of men, women and children in Malawi. Together, let us continue to raise more to train clinical officers at the Malamulo College of Health Sciences!
Congratulations! Together you raised over $4,000 during the Global Giving challenge in September. With these funds plus the matching, enough has been raised (and then some) to support the full 4 year tuition to train a clinical officer at the Malamulo College of Health Sciences! This is huge step in addressing the global health workforce shortage and saving lives in Malawi.
As next steps, we plan to collaborate with the Malamulo College of Health Sciences to track the health worker you have funded. We will meet this student, report on their progress in school and hear from him/her one on one about their career plans in the health sector in Malawi.
Thank you so very much for your donations and support to training clinical officers in Malawi. We look forward to sharing news with you about student training in the new year! Please tell your family and friends about this innovative way to train health workers in Africa. Let us raise more money to train additional health workers!
