For people with visual impairments, daily life can involve challenges in mobility and independence. A professionally trained guide dog is more than assistance-it is a trusted partner that helps individuals navigate daily life with greater confidence. Huikuang Guide Dog School, Taiwan's first certified guide dog training organization, is dedicated to breeding, raising, training, matching, and supporting guide dogs. Your support will help expand guide dog services.
For many people, vision loss happens unexpectedly, bringing significant changes to daily life. Imagine the moment when someone who supports their family suddenly loses their ability to navigate independently. Everyday tasks that once seemed simple can become new challenges. In Taiwan, nearly 60,000 people are living with visual impairments. The potential need is around 600 guide dogs, yet only about 30 are currently available, leaving many without access to a guide dog partner.
Huikuang Guide Dog School addresses this gap through a complete guide dog program, from breeding and puppy raising to formal training, assessment, matching, class training, and ongoing support services. By providing guide dog services at no cost to qualified people with visual impairments, Huikuang develops trusted guide dog partnerships that support greater confidence, mobility, and independence in navigating daily life.
Your support helps more people with visual impairments access trusted guide dog partnerships and navigate daily life with greater confidence and independence. Through professional guide dog services, public education, and the promotion of inclusive environments, your support contributes to a society where guide dog partnerships are understood, respected, and supported.
