Four builders: Trained!

By Jennifer Small | Development Associate

With your support, we have trained four builders who we otherwise could not provide with free training in earthquake-resistant design and construction.

These four builders now have vastly expanded economic opportunities, as the training and certification they receive is recognized by construction companies and the local government. These groups frequently contact us to ask for lists of qualified builders – no one wants to build structures that may collapse in the next earthquake, destroying their investment and taking lives.

We plan to continue raising funds to train more builders. The more people know about how to construct safe houses, the more safe homes there will be in Port-au-Prince.

Thank you. We could not offer these additional trainings without your support.
