After the Wakipa women graduated from their course, they continued to meet about business management and team building. In order for their team to be ultimately strong, African Impact provided a team building curriculum. In the end, they had a 21% increase of knowledge within the course! Also, since graduating, the women have held 2 big external events with around 350-400 people attending the events! A huge accomplishment from these ladies as they completed these events flawlessly and with compliments!
In the month of December, they have been holding events weekly. This past week, the women went into town to receive quotes for a marquee so they can cater events regardless of the weather. In early December, Wakipa visited Valentina Aikakama (the Business and Events Management trainer) to complete their final mentorship meeting of their year. The women shared their current progress and ended the meeting with a HUGE thank to for her guidance this over the year. Valentina was very surprised (and nearly cried!) as Wakipa traditionally wrapped her in material and sang to her in celebration. As we are wrapping up 2018, we reflect on how far these women have come in the past year – all which would not be possible without incredible donors like yourself. We are so eager for 2019 as the women will soon be choosing and mentoring an additional 13 young women in their community. The Wakipa Women and African Impact Foundation wish you all a happy holidays!
