This project shall train 120 poor women from communities in various life skills and also help them establish various business ventures so that they can take care of their struggling families and also support their children's education.
Zambia's population is young, with 70 % consisting of youths and about 51% women. Majority of women in the country have no jobs and have no capacity to earn a living. Women are the most vulnerable due to cultural limitations, lack of self-esteem and limited empowerment programs. Women's continued poverty status and low education levels means that they will continue being in low paying and non-technical jobs with low status in society.
The Project aims to train 120 women for them to have sustainable income to meet their basic needs like home family food and their children's education. This project shall empower the women with lifesaving skills and economically through the following activities: 1. Train 120 women to have lifesaving skills 2. Support the 120 women with start-up capital for their businesses 3. Support the women with business equipment e.g. sewing machines, peanut butter machines
The 120 women to have secured and sustainable income to meet their basic needs and to support their children's education. Their homes shall have improved nutrition thereby improving the health statuses of their families. Because the women shall have established their businesses they shall create jobs in their communities. The number of Gender Based Violence cases due to poverty shall be reduced. Women shall be socially and economically empowered for freedom (in decision making & participation)
