This project will ensure that every Kenyan farmer commits 10% of forest cover on their farms, to conform to the UN's 10% of national forest cover in the near future.
Of late, the communities have been faced with prolonged droughts, which have claimed many lives; livestock and human beings, especially in Eastern Province, Parts of Rift Valley Province,North Eastern Provinces. And this has been as a result of deforestation practices of the Kenya's government forests.Notably,Kenya;s forests currently stands at 2.7% contrary to 10% as required by the UN council. This has been followed by so much rains in some parts; as a result of global warming.
By training farmers on planting trees;10% of their farms under forest cover. We will train 1000 trainers, who will in turn train over 500,000 other trainers; hence aiming at 3,000,000 farmers country wide.
There shall be no droughts in the country.Over 5 million farmers will be trained on agroforestry practices and over 50,000,000 trees will be planted, hence bringing Kenya to 10% forest cover.
