At the heart of our mission lies a commitment to empower and uplift the community of Upendo. Every day, we strive to nurture a sense of hope and opportunity for the residents of this vibrant town. However, recent events have challenged us to go above and beyond, and we need your support to continue making a difference.
In the devastating floods that hit Upendo in May, our organization was faced with a critical choice: give up or adapt. We chose the latter. Recognizing the urgent need to protect our facilities and ensure the safety of our students, we immediately embarked on reinforcing our site. This unforeseen setback prompted us to reconsider and enhance our infrastructure, ensuring that our tradeschool can withstand any future floods.
Nevertheless, the cost to complete this foundation reinforcement project cannot be solely shouldered by our limited resources. That's why we turn to you, our generous donors, for your support. We humbly ask for your contribution to help us raise the funds needed to complete this crucial project. Your donation will not only ensure the safety and security of our facilities but also strengthen our commitment to the community we serve.
In addition to our ongoing efforts, we are excited to announce our upcoming annual 5K event this October. It serves as a rallying point for our community and an opportunity to bring together supporters, sponsors, and participants alike. By joining our 5K, you can actively contribute to our fundraising efforts for the tradeschool. Together, we can make a lasting impact and provide the students of Upendo with the education and skills they need to transform their lives.
With the end of the year fast approaching, our goal is to secure the necessary funds to complete the tradeschool before the new year heralds new challenges. By supporting our cause, you become an essential part of this inspiring story. Your donation will directly contribute to building a brighter future for the aspiring young tradespeople in Upendo and help us cement our commitment to their success.
Join us in making a difference today. Your generosity will not only help us reach our fundraising goals, but also bring hope and opportunity to an entire community. Together, we can overcome any obstacles and create a better tomorrow for Upendo.
Greetings Upendo Friends,
We are grateful for your support and the impact we have made in less than three years.
On February 8, 2023, we held our Trade School groundbreaking ceremony in Nakuru, Kenya. The attendees were some Upendo board members, Avi-IT(first services trip group), the quantity surveyor, the architectural and structural engineer, and the contractor(Davim). We qualified 6 Vendors/contractors before hiring Davim contractors to start excavating the ground. The excavation and dumping of the top cotton soil took two days. The cost was $2941.
Our next goal is to raise $50,000 for the foundation. In the first quarter, we applied for 245 sponsorship and grants and participated in the Little by Little campaign through GlobalGiving. We have opportunities to volunteer with Upendo 2023. Our services trip will be in November 2023 to help with building. Please contact us for more information.
We appreciate your consideration to support and engineering love for orphans and at-risk children. Attached are a few pictures of our trade school in Kenya.

Greetings
Four months ago we launched our forth project campaign to raise money to build the first floor of the trade school. Our chief goal is to set up a Technical/Trade school to impart career and life skills to orphans, at-risk youth and to area residents. The trade school would offer short-term certificates and diplomas in programs such as agriculture technologies, plumbing, electrical-mechanical technologies, automotive technology, coding, and web development.
We have the architectural and structural plans drawn and approved by the Nakuru county to start building in 2023.We have purchased 12 trucks of bricks, 8 trucks of pebbles, and 4 trucks of sand so far.Our 2023 goal is to complete the first floor(multipurpose hall) at cost of $50,000.
Our goal is to increase the number of children we are serving to 500 in the next two years.
We appreciate your support thoroughly and we look forward to updating you with the pictures for the trade school groundbreaking in a few months.
Happy holidays and happy New Year

Greetings,
Within 26 months we have accomplished so much with your support for our Project.
We have been working on the title deed, and permits to start building. Within the next three months we should be able to get the approvals and permit for the Kenyan government to start building.
We have a projected budget and plan to start building our first floor as multipurpose hall( innovation hub). The Budget stand at $ 50,000 for the ground floor. We have a 5k family event coming up in October 15, 2022 to help raise funds for the first floor.
To date we have over 20 children coming to the Library to read per day. Some read outside the shipping container. Our goal is to expand the space to allow more children to come and in a safe environment.
Our projected start date to build the hall is in February 2023.
We thank you for you continued support.
Within 22 months we have completed the Library project, the greenhouse and we are workinng on our third project, Livestock production. We hope to complete the livestock shed within the next 4months. We are feeding the children with fresh spinach, kale, cabbage, tomatoes, onions and bell pepper. We are greatful for your support to help Upendo support 145 Orphans in Kenya. You made it possibe this far.
We will be officially lauching Upendo in June 2022. We will be breaking the ground for the the trade school at the same time. Currently we are going through county approvals for the plan attached.
