Greetings

Four months ago we launched our forth project campaign to raise money to build the first floor of the trade school. Our chief goal is to set up a Technical/Trade school to impart career and life skills to orphans, at-risk youth and to area residents. The trade school would offer short-term certificates and diplomas in programs such as agriculture technologies, plumbing, electrical-mechanical technologies, automotive technology, coding, and web development.

We have the architectural and structural plans  drawn and approved by the Nakuru county to start building in 2023.We have purchased 12 trucks of bricks, 8 trucks of pebbles, and 4 trucks of sand so far.Our 2023 goal  is to complete the first floor(multipurpose hall) at cost of $50,000.

Our goal is to increase the number of children we are serving to 500 in the next two years.

We appreciate your support thoroughly and we look forward to  updating you with the pictures for the  trade school groundbreaking  in a few months.

Happy holidays and happy New Year

Greetings,

Within 26 months we have accomplished so much with your support for our Project.

We have been working on the title deed, and permits to start building. Within the next three months we should be able to get the approvals and permit for the Kenyan government to start building.

We have a projected budget and plan to start building our first floor as multipurpose hall( innovation hub). The Budget stand at $ 50,000 for the ground floor. We have a 5k family event coming up in October 15, 2022 to help raise funds for the first floor.

To date we have over 20 children coming to the Library to read per day. Some read outside the shipping container. Our goal is to expand the space to allow more children to come and in a safe environment.

Our projected start date to build  the hall is in February 2023.

We thank you for you continued support.

Within 22 months we have completed the Library project, the greenhouse and we are workinng on our third project, Livestock production.  We hope to complete the livestock shed within the next 4months. We are feeding the children  with fresh spinach, kale, cabbage, tomatoes, onions and bell pepper. We are greatful for your support to help Upendo support 145 Orphans in Kenya. You made it possibe this far.

We will be officially lauching Upendo in June 2022.  We will  be breaking the ground for the the trade school at the same time. Currently we are going through county approvals for the plan attached. Once we have the approval we hope to continue raising funds for the building  of the first and second within the next two years.  The estimated budget for the two year project is $150,000.

Thank you again for all the support and Upendo

Since our 5k fundraiser, we have completed two projects: solar installation and Libary/resource center.

The trade school is a long term project( 3-7 years) which  requires additional land for the classrooms, and a structural building before we can get the permit to operate. Although these are obstacle for now, we have completed  90% of the Library and resource center in a way that  we can start offering online classes virtually. In the next 3 months we hope to have 15 desk tops computers shipped in kenya. This will enable us to  teach 10-15 students  per session. We are seeking different providers that can offer online course from USA virtually.

We relocated the intial site of the container(library) to accomodate the other projects in the 1/2 acre of land. We  installed solar that will be used for the Library and resource center, trade shool and farming for the greenhouse.

In the next six months our goal is to ge the permits for  building the trade school. The one year goal(2022) is to continue fundraising and  build  the first 4-8 classes.

We have 145 children we supporting. As soon as we complete labelling of the books, the children will have the ability  to access books including other orphanages and school in the area.
