Team Rubicon Ready Reserve Fund Report

By Mary Kay Holmes | Grant Writer/ DAF Specialist

The Ready Reserve Fund stands as the cornerstone of Team Rubicon’s mission, a testament to our unwavering dedication since 2010. This unrestricted fund is the strategic enabler that allows us to be both nimble and entrepreneurial in our approach. It empowers us to act swiftly, ensuring that we can extend our reach to any community in need, irrespective of the disaster’s nature or location.
In essence, the Ready Reserve Fund is the driving force behind our ability to serve with equity and innovation. It’s the foundation upon which we build our capacity to respond, recover, and rebuild, ensuring that every community we touch can emerge stronger from the trials of disaster.
Here’s how the Ready Reserve Fund amplifies our flexibility and commitment to equitable service distribution:

• Agility in Disaster Response: The fund allows us to mobilize resources rapidly, adapting
to the unique challenges each disaster presents. Whether it’s deploying teams to remote
areas or scaling up operations in urban centers, the Ready Reserve Fund ensures that
we can respond with the urgency that each situation demands.
• Entrepreneurial Spirit: With the freedom that comes from unrestricted funding, we can
innovate in our relief efforts. This might mean investing in new technologies to improve
efficiency, experimenting with different forms of community engagement, or developing
creative solutions to complex problems on the ground.
• Equitable Aid Distribution: The Ready Reserve Fund enables us to prioritize aid based
on need, not on visibility or media attention. This ensures that even the most
underserved communities receive our support, aligning with our core value of equity in
service.
• Capacity Building: Unrestricted funds are crucial for organizational growth. They allow us
to invest in training for our volunteers, expand our operational capabilities, and enhance
our readiness to serve communities better.
• Community Engagement: The fund supports our efforts to engage with local
communities year-round, not just in times of crisis. This continuous presence helps build
trust and allows us to understand and address the unique needs of each community we
serve.
• Support for Veteran Volunteers: By bolstering the spirits of our veteran volunteers, the
Ready Reserve Fund contributes to their sense of purpose and community integration,
which is vital for their well-being.
