Chinna Venmani Primary School is located in Chinna Venmani Village, in Maduranthakam Taluk of Kancheepuram district. The school has over 40 students from 1st to 5th standard. While the school had a toilet, it was in very poor condition and not usable; it was open to the sky and walls were too short that it was open to the public. As such the toilet was not usable and the children had to go home or run some distance from the school where they could toilet during the day. The school Headmaster and students were quite desperate to have the toilet renovated so that it could be used by the children.
With the beginning of the school year in June, the project has now renovated the toilet structure by extending the walls, to give more height, provided septic tank, roofing and fixing the insides of the toilets and painting and now making a usable toilet for both boys and girls.
The school headmaster reported: ‘Thank you for renovating this toilet; it will help us teachers and we are sure that now we will have more children staying back in school and not running back home during the day, due to lack of proper toilet facilities.'
