Leela Family Home (LFH) is fostering 40 under privileged children for their overall development in Bangarpet of Kolar District in Karnataka, South India. LFH takes care of the the children's food, health, shelter and education, but inadequate sanitation facility. Currently, there are 2 toilets available but inadequate to meet the needs of 40 children coming from poor rural families. Your contribution will help this project to construct 4 toilet cum bathrooms and meet the demands of this children
Inadequate sanitation facility for the children coming from poor families residing in the Leela Family Home. Kolar is the most backward district in Karnataka and sanitation is a major issue. There are several issue on water & sanitation and there is little importance given by government. Poor sanitation has been taking a toll on the health of the residents of Kerekodi village located on the outskirts of the town (http://www.deccanherald.com/content/257280/a-forlorn-village-near-bangarpet.html)
This project looks to address the issue by constructing 4 toilet in bathrooms for the children residing in the Leela Family Home of Bangarpet. This will help improve the hygiene and health of the children and contribute to the overall development of the children. This will also act as a model which could be replicated by the local government and other organizations in the rural areas of Kolar district for the betterment of the communities suffering from water and sanitation issues.
The model toilet in bathrooms constructed through this project will help in contributing to the health, well being and overall development of the children residing in the Leela Family Home. In addition to this, the project will help the local government to implement similar toilet cum bathroom construction activities in the entire rural areas of Kolar district. This will help curb the spread of disease and improve the hygiene and health of the rural communities in the State.
