Helping to return the privacy to the outhouses and replacing the disintegrated thatch palm structure with a new solid brick and concrete outhouse has been gratifying. The original plan to construct them out of palm fronds was decided because most of the houses were only constructed with palmfronds and having a sturdy outhouse looking much better than the actual didnt seem to fit. It is heart warming to see that the houses have gone from thatch to zinc to wood and now brick structures are the norm in the rural villages.
Electricity was installed a few months ago and there are a few TV antennas that bring the outside world into the rural areas.
It is amazing to see the communities realize that there is a larger world out there and upgrading toilets and bathrooms are now the norm in the rural areas.
With the generosity of you, our donors, we have now rebuilt over 100 toilets and only need 100 more to rebrick.
Thanks for your continued support.
