We are saddened to share that a fire has destroyed The Action Foundation's headquarters. This space was central to our work, providing support, a sense of belonging, and opportunities for children and young people with disabilities, as well as their families. Thankfully, no one was hurt, but the loss is significant. Our programs have been disrupted, and we have lost essential resources that support our daily work. We are doing everything we can to continue and rebuild, but we cannot do it alone.
A fire on May 2, 2026 destroyed The Action Foundation's offices in Nairobi, including an accessible safe space used by children and young people with disabilities. This has disrupted essential services for hundreds who rely on therapy, training, and support, leaving staff without a safe place to deliver programs.
This project will support immediate recovery and rebuilding. We will clear debris, replace key equipment, and set up temporary accessible spaces so programs can continue.
Rebuilding will restore and expand services for children and young people with disabilities. A stronger, accessible center will improve program reach and resilience, supporting inclusion, independence, and long-term opportunities for the communities we serve.
