Dear Donors and Friends,
We are writing to share updates about the project that brings back joy to children, who have experienced trauma.Today, we want to let you know about three key things from the last three months of working with children from Ukraine.
Firstly, we want to tell you that in the past three months, we have been able to help 52 children who have experienced trauma due to the war. Thanks to your support, we conducted a total of 65 hours of play therapy. Your support enabled Natasha (12 years old) to decide to go out of her house, attend our sessions, and after 2 months of regular participation in the project, she returned to school. Now she is surrounded by three friends, whom she spends time with after school.
The second update is another step in the development of our Foundation's activities. In November 2023, we opened the first senior and refugee assistance center in the region. It is a space that offers 25 places for permanent residence for elderly people from our community and in the afternoons serves as a meeting place, activity center, and support for refugees from Ukraine. We are very grateful to the GlobalGiving Foundation for enabling us to complete the renovation works and open this wonderful and important place on the map of Bialobrzegi <3
Lastly, we want to provide you with a brief update on the current situation of children from Ukraine living in our region. Despite the war having been going on for almost 2 years, there is still much to be done. Maybe not as much food, clothing, personal hygiene items, or shelter are needed as at the beginning, but there is a great need for psychological support, integration activities, and education. Education regarding respect, understanding, multiculturalism, and tolerance. "Sasha, a 13-year-old boy attending a nearby school, fights for his dignity every day against his peers. A group of five peers from his class laughs at his origin, appearance, accent, and sometimes even that he lost close family members in Ukraine." There are more children with problems like Sasha's.
Dear donors, thank you for your presence and generosity. It is thanks to you that we can continue to help children in need and address their current needs and problems. We believe that play has power. Once again, we send you a huge THANK YOU.
Warm greetings and all the best,
Dawid with Clementine Foundation’s Team
