In rural Malawi, many girls are excluded from STEM due to poverty, gender norms, and lack of mentors and role models. As a result, their talent remains wasted while communities continue to face urgent challenges like water scarcity and climate change.This project empowers vulnerable school-age girls with STEM skills, mentorship, and hands-on innovation experience, turning exclusion into opportunity and unlocking their potential to create real community solutions.
This project will fully addresses the exclusion of rural girls from STEM education caused by poverty,gender norms, and lack of mentors and role models. It will improve access to practical STEM training, mentorship, and real-world innovation experience. In doing so, it also tackles wider community challenges by developing local girls into future problem-solvers,capable of responding to issues like water scarcity, climate change, and underdeveloped communities.
In the long term, this project will help build a generation of confident female engineers, innovators, and leaders in rural Malawi. As more girls gain STEM skills and opportunities, communities will benefit from locally driven solutions to challenges such as water scarcity, climate change and underdevelopment.This will break cycles of poverty, reduce gender inequality in education and careers, and create lasting social and economic transformation driven by empowered women and girls.
