“Threads of Hope” project has been proceeding very well and the next monitoring trip is scheduled for September. On that period, our project leaders will be there to assist the graduation and experience with them this important moment.
At the end of the year, all the participants will be able to change their social and economic situation, but also to reap the benefits of what they have learnt thanks to the relation with others women and the improvement of the awareness on their important role in family and social environment.
In India, especially in Nagercoil (Southern India) where the project is being developed, the women condition is really dramatic: they are socially marginalised, inferior from birth and exposed to violence and exploitation. Thanks to this project they can hope in a different future for them and for their children.
In a short while the participants have understood the big opportunity the project is giving to their empowerment: through the sewing class they could learn a work and start a small enterprise enable to reach their independence, while the informatic lessons guarantee the competences request to work in the public offices.
We would like to expand the classes! In order to promote the project towards more and more people and to reach our dreams we need all the donors support!
