Many deaf families in Pakistan live in poverty and isolation. During Eid ul Adha, they are often overlooked in Qurbani distributions due to communication barriers and social exclusion. Most cannot afford meat throughout the year, and Eid passes without celebration. This lack of inclusion not only affects their nutrition but also deepens their sense of invisibility within the community.
This project will provide fresh, hygienic Qurbani meat to 100 poor deaf families across Pakistan, allowing them to celebrate Eid with dignity. By identifying the most deserving households, DWAF will deliver meat directly to their homes. This avoids exclusion and ensures safety. We also aim to explore partnerships for a helpline or mobile app to support ongoing needs and connect deaf individuals with timely assistance.
This project will restore a sense of inclusion, dignity, and belonging among deaf families often left out of community support. Regular participation in religious and social events builds confidence and emotional well-being. Over time, it fosters greater awareness, empathy, and acceptance of the deaf community, while laying the groundwork for sustainable support, such as helplines, job access, and ongoing aid.
