Initial Assessment Results
Upon his first evaluation in February 2023 Charles demonstrated significant developmental delays associated with Athetoid Cerebral Palsy. His presentation included limited trunk control, involuntary movements, and a lack of verbal communication. He was unable to sit without help and struggled with coordination, necessitating high levels of assistance for daily functions.

To address these challenges, a comprehensive multidisciplinary approach was implemented:
Progress and Outcomes
Charles has achieved remarkable milestones since starting therapy. He now possesses the balance to stand alone for brief intervals and is beginning to use two-word phrases. Additionally, his ability to manage tracing tasks with minimal guidance and his improved sitting stability reflect significant gains in his overall functional independence.
Key Learnings
This case highlights that the combination of early intervention from multiple specialties and active caregiver participation is vital for enhancing the quality of life for children with athetoid cerebral palsy. The synergy between the clinical team and the family has been fundamental to Charles' success.
