Therapet finished 2024 strong! We certified 10 new dogs to join the Therapet crew in sharing Health, Hope, & Healing with our community. Our animals provided 2,889 hours of therapy, visitation, & community service, while our human volunteers gave 4,601 hours of their time to our mission.
Therapet currently has agreements to provide services to the following facilities and their clients, each with unique needs and demographics - all at no charge:
• Beckville ISD R.E.A.D. Program
• Breckenridge Village of Tyler
• Brownsboro ISD R.E.A.D. Program
• Chapel Hill ISD
• Christus Trinity Mother Frances Hospital
• Christus Trinity Mother Frances Rehabilitation (Encompass Health)
• East Texas Crisis Center (Visitation as a part of their Positive Parenting program)
• Lindale Library R.E.A.D. Program
• Rusk State Hospital
• Skyview Unit of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice
• UT Health Tyler
• UT Health North Campus
• Wayne D. Boshears Center for Exceptional Programs / Jones Elementary School (Tyler I.S.D.)
Our dog classes continue to fill up and pave the way for future teams.
Therapet is in our 31st year of serving East Texas.
